BAPTISM

One of our first steps after we decide to follow Jesus (as Savior and Lord of our lives) is to be baptized in water.  This is a step of obedience to Christ (Matthew 28:18-20) and a public way to identify with Jesus. Baptism by immersion in water is an outward expression of the inward transformation that has taken place in us.  It shows others that we have given up our life (buried in the likeness of his death as we are placed under the water) and have now received new life in Him (raised to walk in newness of life as we are raised up out of the water).
